Bed Wetting AlarmsThere are a number of bed wetting alarms on the market to suit a variety of needs. Most people, whether a child or adult, are embarrassed by their bed wetting and seek a discreet method to control it. Bed Wetting SensorA bed wetting sensor normally consists of a small alarm attached to the collar and connected to a small sensor in the pants which sounds when moisture is detected to warn the wearer to stop urinating and go to the bathroom.
Wireless alarms.Wireless alarms also wake a sufferer when moisture is detected. They have a sensor attached to the waistband of underpants and a signal is sent to the alarm which can be placed beside the bed or where parents can also hear it. The volume can also be adjusted.
Bed MatsSome people prefer not to wear an alarm, but to use a bed mat placed between the mattress and the under sheet with the alarm beside the bed. The sensor mats are replaceable and should be washed frequently.
Alarm WatchesAlthough most people think of bed wetting alarms as some form of sensor that sounds the alarm when it detects moisture, many people, particularly parents, are trying alarm watches to remind the sufferer to go to the bathroom before an accident occurs. The watches can either sound an alarm or vibrate and have a number of settings. These watches are useful for behavioural training and many people, including children, prefer to use one rather than wearing a diaper or a sensor attached to their body. All of the alarms are designed to alert the sufferer to the need to urinate and train them to control the bladder. If there is no apparent medical reason for bed wetting, over a period of time many sufferers do become dry. |
